JET DEVICES: ejectors and injectors for various purposes

Jet devices (ejectors and injectors) are used in many branches of industry: petrochemical, gas-and-oil producing, oil refinery, metal manufacture, paper and textile industries, food industry, thermal and atomic power engineering, space and deep-sea technologies and others.

Technovacuum Ltd. develops and delivers jet devices of various types: liquid-gas ejectors as well as gas-gas, gas-vapor and liquid-liquid ones and liquid-vapor jet devices (injectors).

The designing of jet devices (ejectors and injectors) is carried out under Customers technical specification using the advanced calculation techniques developed by specialists of Technovacuum Ltd.

Technovacuum Ltd. provides the Customer preliminary calculations of jet devices for determination of their application efficiency.

Application example of ejectors designed by specialists of Technovacuum Ltd. in the units of gas, condensate and oil preparation at oil-gas condensate field Cocdumalac (Uzbekistan).

To compress the low-pressure gases these units use potential energy of high-pressure gaseous, liquid and two-phase flows, which is usually irretrievably lost at throttles without doing any effective work in the existing processes of gas, condensate and oil preparation.

1. Liquid-gas ejectors

Liquid-gas ejectors are designed to compress gas-vapor mixtures of any composition due to energy of high-velocity liquid flow.

Liquid-gas ejectors are used for:

  • Compression of low-pressure gases (for example, flare and associated oil ones) at enterprises of gas-and-oil producing, petrochemical, chemical, oil refinery industries and others;
  • Vacuum creation in process equipment at oil refinery, petrochemical and other enterprises, in steam-turbine condensers, in drying of food stuff and wood, in various liquids degassing, etc.;
  • Saturation of liquids by various gases;
  • Process gases purification from toxic substances and dust;
  • Mixing gas and liquid for acceleration of chemical and biological reactions and absorption processes;
  • Pumping of gases into bed in order to increase crude oil production;
  • Many other fields of application (see [1] monograph “Two-phase jet devices” by V.G Tsegelsky).

2. Liquid-gas ejectors with two-phase active flow

These ejectors are designed to compress gas-vapor mixtures of any composition due to energy of high-velocity liquid-gas flow.

They can be used for low-pressure (flare) gases compression due to potential energy of high-pressure two-phase flows, which is usually irretrievably lost at throttles in oil&gas production processes without any effective work.

The jet devices of this type developed by Technovacuum Ltd. are introduced at the oil-gas condensate field Cocdumalac (Uzbekistan).

3. Gas-gas ejectors

These ejectors are designed for pumping various gas-vapor mixtures of any composition due to energy of high-velocity gas flow.

Some fields of application:

  • Compression of low-pressure gases due to potential energy of high-pressure gas flows at oil and oil-gas condensate fields;
  • Vacuum creation during technological processes in various branches of industry;
  • Many other fields of application.

4. Steam-gas ejectors

These ejectors are designed for pumping various gas-vapor flows due to water steam power.

Some fields of application:

  • Vacuum creation in vessels during technological processes in various branches of industry (thermal power engineering, metallurgy, petrochemical, food industry, etc.);
  • Compression of gas-vapor flows;
  • Arrangement of low-pressure steam recirculation due to high-pressure steam.

5. Steam-liquid jet devices (injectors)

Due to coversion of steam thermal energy into liquid jet kinetic energy total outlet pressure of the liquid mixture exceeds total pressure both of steam and liquid flows at the inlets of these devices.

The injectors are used for heating and water supply in heat supply systems, hot water supply, supply of chemically purified water to deaerators, etc.

6. Liquid-liquid ejectors

These ejectors are designed for pumping various liquids due to energy of high-velocity liquid flow.

They are used for intensive mixing of liquids in various processes, as a booster, for increase of centrifugal pumps suction head, etc.
