Layout of the VHC unit with motive liquid regeneration and hydrogen sulfide removal.

The unit for motive liquid regeneration and hydrogen sulfide removing from gas that was implemented by Technovacuum Ltd. at ELOU-AVT-7 unit of TANECO refinery (Nizhnekamsk city) in 2012, operates in the following way.

Part of motive liquid is delivered by the pump P0601A/B to the desorber D0604 where regeneration of motive liquid takes place due to vacuum created by the liquid-gas jet device J0602A/B. Regenerated motive liquid is moved by gravity from the desorber D0604 to the storage tank D0605 and then is delivered by the pumps P0606A/B into main circulation loop of vacuum hydrocirculating unit to inlet of the pump P0601A/B. Gas-vapor mixture (containing hydrogen sulfide) which is separated from motive liquid in the desorber D0604 is compressed by the jet device J0602A/B which operates on solution of monodiethanolamine (MDEA) as motive liquid circulating along the closed loop. Since hydrogen sulfide is partly absorbed by MDEA solution during mixing in the J602A/B jet device, permanent renewal of MDEA solution takes place by its adding from the absorber C0601 and pumping out of motive liquid by the pump P0605A/B for regeneration. Gas from the separator D0606 is mixed with gas flow from the main separator D0601A/B of VHC unit and then is delivered to the absorber C0601 where hydrogen sulfide is removed from gas by regenerated MDEA solution. Purified gas is supplied to the furnace H0802 for burning and MDEA solution is delivered to the separator D0606.

So, Technovacuum Ltd. has developed the first VHC unit which can operate without makeup of motive liquid and therefore without withdrawal of its excess outside the unit.
It ensures ecological safety of the vacuum system unit operation due to removal of all hydrogen sulfide from gas-vapor mixture, pumped out of the vacuum column, within the technological unit, that is of great importance during processing of sour oil.
